How To Dose

Photosensitivity Support: Add 1 capful (25ml) to the water trough every second day until green grass has died off or risk period has passed. Based on 500 litre trough.

Liver Plus: Add 1 capful (25ml) to the water trough every second day. Safe for long term use.

Puffiness Plus: If swelling or oedema are present, give 2 pumps into the mouth or on a treat, twice daily until drainage is complete. Monitor your horse’s health and consult your veterinarian if the horse is suffering or in any pain.

Mud & Rain: Give 2 pumps into the mouth or onto a treat that wont absorb it, like carrot or apple twice a day for 2-3 weeks until symptoms ease, then reduce to once a week for maintenance. If symptoms have appeared, dose for 2-3 weeks or until healing is complete and the scabs have fallen off leaving clear healthy skin underneath. As a preventative, start dosing once a week as soon as the rainy season starts. Keep an eye on your horse’s legs and at the first sign of any trouble, increase dosing to twice daily for 7-10 days to return the skin to its normal healthy state. Reducing dose frequency when symptoms aren’t present will avoid desensitisation to this remedy. Severe or long-standing cases will take longer to resolve. These remedies can be used alongside veterinary prescribed medications, and can all be added to the water trough at the same time.

90ml Pump Bottle

Give 2 pumps into the mouth or onto a treat that wont absorb it, like carrot or apple twice a day for 7 days, then reduce dosing as symptoms ease.

90 ml Pump Bottle = 230 doses (2 pumps per dose).

Bottles are food grade aluminium with a hygienic serum pump lid and over cap. Great for dosing on the go.

Jerry Can Dosing

Water Trough – add 25ml's - one capful or 1 Jerry Can pump - of remedy into the water trough every second day. Dose volume is calculated for a 500-litre water trough.

Feed – add 12ml's - ½ capful or ½ pump - on to feed twice daily.

Dose until symptoms ease, then reduce dosing to once a week for maintenance.

Well worth its weight in gold

This kit is great - we unfortunately had a massive spike in weeds this past few months but was unable to put our finger on that being the cause of our horses ailments due to their large grazing area. Along with professionals help in diagnosing the issue, following a strict treatment plan and introducing this kit has improved our boys immensely - thank you!

Just wow!

I contacted Hippo Health as my horses noses and muzzles became split, cracked and bleeding and my young horses nose became very wart like, sore and sensitive. They suggested I use the photosensitivity and liver support. Well I seriously can’t thank them enough! Within 10 days my pink nosed ponies noses and muzzles were back to their milky soft pale pink condition. In fact softer and milkier than ever. So good I have also helped a friends horse using the same product by dosing the water. The before photos don’t do justice to the nastiness of this photosensitivity but the after really do show how well the product has worked for my guys. Thank you so much!

Last summer my horse had uncontrollable photosensitive dermatitis (spent over $2k with vets, trying to fix) he had UV boots on all summer...I contacted hippo health mid last year and got a lot of help and advice from their amazing staff, this summer my beautiful boy has no sign of any scabs or anything. The two products cost me $180 including shipping and it's so easy to use (straight in his water) I can't recommend or thank hippo health any more! Forever grateful

Mud Fever and Photosensitivity can present with similar symptoms, but they're actually different conditions, caused by different factors, which means they need to be treated differently too. While Photosensitivity is caused by your horse ingesting fluorescing chemicals in lush green grass, Mud Fever / Greasy Heel starts when bacteria enter the body, usually through broken skin.

If there is lots of lush green grass around or there is algae in the water trough, you might be dealing with photosensitivity, or if “mud fever” is not responding to usual treatments.

This remedy won’t cause any adverse effects, but the ingredients will only activate when they come into contact with a mucous membrane such as the tongue, gums or lips.

Adding 25mls (1oz) of remedy from our Jerry Can to a 500L (100-gallon) water trough every second day is enough to dose all of the animals that drink from that trough. With homeopathic remedies, the dilution ratio doesn’t have to be exact.
