    Sweet Itch NZ is a natural supplement for horses troubled by itch and irritation from mozzie and midge bites.

    Sweet Itch NZ is an oral remedy that can be added to the water trough for dosing multiple animals at the same time.

    DOSING

    When to Dose

    What is Sweet Itch? Whilst the Sweet Itch midge is not found in New Zealand, many horses develop very itchy manes, tails and rumps. They may rub these areas constantly, leading to raw and broken skin which can result in more severe infection, so it’s important to treat any itchy skin quickly.

    You can expect to see the remedy working within the first week, usually after day 3. Further improvement continues over the coming weeks as the formulation supports the normal functioning of the immune system.
    Dose until symptoms are gone, then reduce dosing to once a week to maintain.

    Works for dogs too. Just add about half a teaspoon to their water bowl. 

    How to Dose

    Dose via the water trough or by adding to feed. You should see a change within 3-7 days, with further improvements as the weeks progress and the normal immune response builds. For acute cases trough dosing is recommended.

    Jerry Can Dosing

    Water trough - add 25mls - one capful or 1 Jerry Can pump - of remedy into the water trough every second day. Dose volume is calculated for a 500-litre water trough and can provide coverage for multiple animals.

    Feed – add 12mls - ½ capful (12ml) or ½ pump - on to feed twice daily.

    1 litre = 80 days continuous cover via water troughs (dosing every second day) or 40 days dosing on feed (twice daily). *Maintenance dosing is once a week so product will last a lot longer.

    Dose until symptoms ease, then reduce dosing to once a week for maintenance.

    Our robust jerry cans are made from food grade plastic.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Remedies are dispensed in food grade plastic jerry cans, sized 1 litre, 2 litre, 5 litres.

    The 5 litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump. The pump can also be bought separately for the smaller jerry cans.

    Itchiness

    Hippo Sweet itch seems to be working!! I've been adding it to there food daily as both my horses were

    getting severely bitten and causing hot spots.

    Although the season has cooled off a bit the midges are not so bad

    so after being on the sweet itch product for a while it while be interesting to see how they get on when the midges are in full swing.

    But happy!!

    This remedy won’t cause any adverse effects, but the ingredients will only activate when they come into contact with a mucous membrane such as the tongue, gums or lips.

    Adding 25mls (1oz) of remedy from our Jerry Can to a 500L (100-gallon) water trough every second day is enough to dose all of the animals that drink from that trough. With homeopathic remedies, the dilution ratio doesn’t have to be exact.
