Hippo Health remedies are liquid.

To dose an individual farm animal, we have 90ml aluminium bottles with hygienic mist spray lid with over-cap. The dose is given by spraying 2-3 times onto a mucous membrane such as the nose or vulva. In the milking shed, dosing the vulva is an easy and efficient option.

To dose at herd level, we have food grade plastic jerry cans, sized 1 litre, 2 litre and 5 litre. A dose is given by pouring 1 capful (25ml) of remedy into the water trough, every second day. We do offer a pump attachment that dispenses 25ml and can be used instead of the cap. Our 5 litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump.

Doses per container
90ml bottle = 500+ doses (2-3 sprays per dose)

1 litre = 40 doses which provides 80 days of trough treatment (Dosing every second day). This is based on water troughs up to 500 litre capacity.

All Hippo Health products have dosing instructions on the label.

Pump Bottles
A dose consists of 2-3 sprays of the remedy on to a mucous membrane such as the vulva, nose or tongue.

For dairy cows, we recommend 2 doses (2-3 sprays per dose) the first when putting the cups on and again when taking the cups off.

Jerry Cans for Dosing the herd
A dose is given by pouring 1 capful (25ml) of remedy into the water trough, every second day. We do offer a pump attachment that dispenses 25ml an can be used instead of the cap. Our 5 litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump.

For other livestock you can administer a dose (2 sprays) to the nose, on their food or in their water trough. To dose on food, use half a capful per dose, 1-2 times a day.

This remedy can be continued long term.

The Sol Plus should be given daily through summer. Can you use the sunscreen on dogs? Yes, works the same, just add a teaspoon to their water bowl or 4 pumps of the 70ml bottle. It helps white faced cattle and horses, as well as dogs and goats. Sol Plus takes about a week to build up so start ahead of when you want to go veil free and then keep dosing once a day even on non-riding days to maintain cover.

Would you recommend it for scabs from light sensitivity? If light sensitivity is the cause then I recommend you use our Sol Plus formulation which targets photo sensitivity and is very popular through summer for horses, livestock and white dogs. In Spring it is also used to counter the 'burning' from horses on rye/clover or other fluorescing pasture. However if you need help with heavy/nasty and moist scabbing then use our Mud and Rain as well.
