5 litre jerry can =400 days continuous cover via water troughs (dosing every second day) or 200 days dosing on feed (twice daily). *Maintenance dosing is once a week so product will last a lot longer.

Pump Bottles
A dose consists of 2 pumps of remedy onto the tongue, gums or lips. Can also be given on a piece of food. Most horses love the sweet taste but if your horse is nervous about being dosed, you can put the dose on your finger and dab it on their lips or gums. They do not need to swallow the dose, it just has to come into contact with their tongue or gums.
Give 2 pumps once or twice daily either directly into the mouth or on a piece of carrot.
Dose until symptoms are gone, then reduce dosing to once a week to maintain.

Jerry Cans
Water troughs – tip one capful (25ml) or 1 pump into the water trough every second day.
Feed – tip ½ capful (12ml), or ½ pump, on to feed twice daily when conditions predispose to laminitis.
Dose until symptoms are gone, then reduce dosing to once a week to maintain.

Acute Use e.g. Gorging Incident Dosage: If using a 70ml pump bottle, give 2 pumps every 15-30 minutes for 4 to 6 doses. Then reduce frequency of dosing as horse recovers.
If you are using a jerry can, syringe 5ml (1 teaspoonful) into the mouth as above.

Laminitis Prevention

Have been using this product for over a year now and this is first time in 5 years I have managed to get through spring without my pony showing any signs of laminitis. I dose in feed daily for peace of mind knowing he is actually getting it.

Laminitis Prevention Aid

After never worrying about our ponies out at grass, suddenly I got caught out by the rush in grass growth late in the season. The ponies started to show signs of laminitis, although never having symptoms before and with me not really knowing what to do !. Having used Hippo Health products previously (Sol) you were the company that I immediately turned to. Such a relief to be able to use this product which is so easy to apply (via a tasty carrot !) and can now safely turn them out knowing that everything is under control. I will use this product in future as well as monitoring grass intake but the Laminitis Prevention Aid was a godsend at a very stressful time. Thank you !

Product used every day and will use the attack product if it happens again... Still did all the other important things, vet check, confined food... They've never had laminitis before and we've had them 5 years, much appreciate the quick help, we only got the first signs and first stage, it never progressed and very greatful for this product, Thank You

Hippo Laminitis Prevention Aid

I have been using the Laminitis Prevention Aid for a month with Miniature Horses. Because I have 12 horses in the paddock I put three capfuls every 3 days in a self refilling stock trough.

All was going really well with no founder, even in horses with chronic founder problems, until a few days ago when two of the horses presented with full on founder. I have taken them out and giving it to them direct via syringe., but I am not seeing much more of an improvement than I would normally see after taking them off grass.

So far the others are ok so even though my anser to recommending this prouct it a yes it is with hesitation.

All Hippo Health products rock

Haven't used the laminitis product yet as I've been banned handling my horses until I'm well enough. Which should be first week of January.
