First Aid Plus - Livestock

$48

First Aid Plus - Livestock is professionally formulated with safe, oral, non-toxic natural remedies to support a normal immune response to the pain, swelling and inflammation that can occur with injuries to bone or soft tissue. First Aid Plus also supports wound healing.

First Aid Plus - Livestock does not replace veterinary care and if your horse is in pain or suffering you must of course seek veterinary advice. First Aid Plus - Livestock works well alongside veterinary medications and can be used concurrently.

Keep a bottle with you for everyday bumps and bruises and to have on hand for use in the event of an emergency, while waiting for veterinary assistance.

* Note - our Pump bottles are the most popular size for First Aid Plus because depending on the circumstances a stressed animal may not eat or drink, so dosing needs to be into the mouth.

Hippo Health remedies are liquid.

To dose an individual farm animal, we have 90ml aluminium bottles with a hygienic mist spray lid with over-cap. The dose is given by spraying 2-3 times on to a mucous membrane such as the nose or vulva. In the milking shed, dosing the vulva is an easy and efficient option.

To dose at herd level, we have food grade plastic jerry cans, sized 1 litre, 2 litre, 5 litre.  A dose is given by pouring 1 capful (25ml) of remedy into the water trough, every second day. We do offer a pump attachment that dispenses 25ml and can be used instead of the cap. Our litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump.

Doses per container
90ml bottle = 500+ doses (2-3 sprays per dose)

1 litre = 40 doses which provides 80 days of trough treatment (Dosing every second day). This is based on water troughs up to 500 litre capacity.

All Hippo Health products have dosing instructions on the label.

Pump Bottles
A dose consists of 2-3 sprays of the remedy on to a mucous membrane such as the vulva, nose or tongue.

For dairy cows, we recommend 2 doses per day (2-3 sprays per dose) the first when putting the cups on and the second when taking the cups off.

For other livestock you can administer a dose (2 sprays) to the nose, or, using a jerry can, you can put half a capful on their feed once or twice a day, or 1 capful in their water trough every second day.
