Abscess Plus is professionally formulated to assist with a healthy immune response to discomfort and inflammation associated with abscess and puncture wounds.
Abscesses are challenging to treat, particularly when the abscess is walled off or there is a foreign body involved. Likewise, puncture wounds can introduce foreign matter and bacteria.
Hippo Abscess Plus is given orally, twice daily until drainage is complete. See instructions here or on the label.
* To treat an individual animal, give 2 doses a day until the abscess ripens and drains. Once drained, reduce dose to one dose every second day for a further week, then stop.
* To treat a herd, dose the water trough once a week to maintain health. Pump Bottles (90ml bottles) A dose consists of 2-3 sprays of the remedy on to a mucous membrane such as the vulva, nose or tongue. For dairy cows, we recommend 2 doses (2-3 sprays per dose) the first when putting the cups on and again when taking the cups off. Jerry Cans for Dosing the Herd A dose is given by pouring 1 capful (25ml) of remedy into the water trough, every second day. We do offer a pump attachment that dispenses 25ml an can be used instead of the cap. Our 5 litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump. For other livestock you can administer a dose (2 sprays) to the nose, on their food or in their water trough. To dose on food, use half a capful per dose, 1-2 times a day. Doses per container 90ml bottle = 500+ doses (2-3 sprays per dose)
1 litre = 40 doses which provides 80 days of trough treatment (Dosing every second day). This is based on water troughs up to 500 litre capacity.
