    DOSING

    Dose with FE Active when they are showing symptoms such as seeking shade, agitation, blisters, redness and swelling on the skin.

    90ml Spray Bottles
    A dose consists of 2-3 sprays of the remedy on to a mucous membrane such as the vulva, nose or tongue, 2 times a day while symptoms are present.

    For dairy cows, we recommend 2 doses per day (2-3 sprays per dose) the first when putting the cups on and the second when taking the cups off, while symptoms are present.

    For other livestock you can administer a dose (2-3 sprays) to the nose, or, using a jerry can, you can put 1 capful in their water trough every second day (25ml per 500L) while symptoms are present.

    Jerry Cans for dosing the herd
    A dose is given by pouring 1 capful (25ml) of remedy into the water trough, every second day. We do offer a pump attachment that dispenses 25ml and can be used instead of the cap. Our 5 litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump.

    90ml bottle = 500+ doses (2-3 sprays per dose)

    1 litre = 40 doses which provides 80 days of trough treatment (Dosing every second day). This is based on water troughs up to 500 litre capacity.

    FE Active

    I used FE Preventative and then FE Active on our milking herd every day for February, March and April. Can't say it worked that well as we had a number of clinical cases, they have healed, I think the FE Active helped but

    it is difficult to actually know, and it was disappointing.

    I would certainly still use zinc as well, as FE is a horrible disease and zinc really does work, our youngstock were all zinc bolused and none of them suffered FE. It was a very bad season for FE this year.

    Adding 25mls (1oz) of remedy from our Jerry Can to a 500L (100-gallon) water trough every second day is enough to dose all of the animals that drink from that trough. With homeopathic remedies, the dilution ratio doesn’t have to be exact. The active ingredients disperse through the trough using the hydrogen particles in the water, so each animal gets a fresh dose every time they take a drink. Regardless of how much – or little – water is in the trough, the potency of the remedy will be the same. Adding our remedies to a water trough means a new dose is administered every time an animal takes a drink. The trough doesn't need to be emptied and refilled between doses as the sunlight destroys any residues after three days.
