    Cushings Support Equine

I have an old pony, 25 years old, who was very stiff and had a long coat. All the symtiems of Cushings. I used this Cushings Support for about 4 weeks, clipped him, and he has returned to his old "younger" self. I would recommend this product.

Sol Plus -- My pony has a pink nose and pink skin around his eyes. Last summer I used the Sol Plus in my water trough. He no long needed a nose guard and no sunburn around his eyes. Truly amazing! I will continue to use this product.

Immune Boost- At present I am using the Immune boost on my big horse as he has a couple of sarcoids on his nose. It seems to be diminishing them.

    Cushings support

We have been using this product for over 1.5 years with our now 25 year old pony who was not doing well with vet medication. Since starting this product we have seen an improvement in her overall happiness and well being. She has started eating again and has put on weight.

    Very happy with results

Again another hippo health product I’m incredibly happy with the results from! Have my older minis on this and saw results, including the fatty deposits disappearing and the pot belly improving.

Cushing's disease, aka Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID), is an endocrine disorder commonly occurring in older horses. This happens when the pituitary gland overproduces hormones, causing the Cushing’s disease symptoms.

A long, curly coat that doesn't shed properly, excessive drinking and urination, laminitis, muscle reduction, and a pot-bellied appearance are common symptoms.
Horses with Cushing's disease can also have recurrent infections and poor performance.

Find out more in our blog post: Cushing’s Disease in Horses: Causes, Risks & Management & Getting a Diagnosis

To diagnose this disease your vet will perform a clinical examination as well as specific blood tests, such as the dexamethasone suppression test or measuring ACTH levels. Veterinarians may also use medical imaging or additional endocrine tests.

There is currently no known cure for Cushing's disease, but it can be managed effectively with medication and proper care. Our Cushing’s Plus remedy is a great additional support alongside veterinary care.

Management typically involves medication, making adjustments to the horse’s diet, and providing regular veterinary care. Horses with Cushing's disease should have regular health checks, including their weight, hoof condition, and overall wellbeing. Additional support can be provided with our Cushings Plus remedy to help support symptoms in your equine friend.

Unfortunately, Cushing’s disease can cause some long-term effects in horses if untreated. These include chronic laminitis, recurrent infections, and overall decline in health and performance. Although with proper management, many horses can live comfortably for many years with Cushing’s Disease.
