Competition Safe Remedies for you and your Horse
by Fiona Lane September 08, 2022
Show season is a busy time full of events, travel, catching up with old friends and making new ones. So much time and effort goes into getting our horses ready to look and perform at their best that we often lose sight of making sure we're in tip top condition to survive show season. The physical and emotional stress of competing, the bumps and bruises and the effects of travelling and being away from home can all take their toll.
That's why we make a range of 100% natural competition and racing safe, non swab-able remedies for Riders – just like you!
Keeping your nerves under control on Show Day is an important part of making sure both you and your horse perform at your best. We’ve got two remedies in our rider range that can help.
Our Calm Rider remedy is great for days when you feel more stressed or anxious than usual. Like all of our remedies, Calm Rider can be used alongside prescription medicines, is non-addictive and won’t make you feel sleepy.
Braveheart is for those times when show nerves leave you feeling panicked, overwhelmed or fearful, or you’re in need of a boost of courage. This remedy can be taken before panic sets in, or once symptoms have started. Start with two pumps onto the tongue, repeating up to 4 times in a 20-minute period as needed.
These two remedies work well together or on their own, and of course we also make a range of calming remedies for Horses.
If you find Show Days physically exhausting, then our Stamina Plus remedy might be for you. It’s professionally formulated to help with recovery from physical over exertion, dehydration, fatigue and those niggly muscle strains.
It comes in a handy pump bottle so it’s super easy to keep on hand and to take – just a couple of pumps onto your tongue before exertion, then two doses 30 minutes apart once you’ve finished.
Show season means lots of travel, which isn’t much fun if you suffer from motion sickness! Our Travel Well remedy for people is a completely natural and non-sedating so can be taken by drivers and their passengers. We also make a version for horses called Easy Traveller.
Nerves, excitement, an uncomfortable bed or being in new surroundings can all interfere with getting a good night’s sleep when you’re away from home. Our Sleep Plus remedy is one of the most popular in our People range. It can help with getting to sleep, and with getting back to sleep for those who wake during the night.
We recommend two pumps onto the tongue half an hour before bed, then another two as you get into bed, making sure you keep your remedy handy for another dose if you wake during the night.
It’s easy to overindulge when you’re on the show circuit. Whether it’s too many drinks, coffees, junk food treats or late nights, our Hangover Plus remedy is here to help! This remedy supports a normal immune response to symptoms such as nausea, headache, muscle cramps and sensitivity to noise or bright lights.
If eating on the road results in an upset tummy or worse, then our Tummy Troubles remedy might be worth keeping handy. Just take two pumps on the tongue at the first sign of any trouble, then take 3 more doses 20 minutes apart, reducing to 2-4 times a day until symptoms settle.
We’ve got lots of other remedies for riders, and of course for horses too!
